SEvEN: Seven Voices One Future

The Premise

Explore the western Scottish Highlands in 2045, Listen to the voices of the ethnic minority communities in Glasgow, Scotland. Learn about Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) through their experiences. Understand how all of us working together doing the small things can make a big difference as we work towards NetZero.

Researchers. Non-profits. Industry.

This project brought together Dr. Mark Wong and his research from the School of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow, Glasgow’s Games Lab, the expertise of the Ethnic Minority Environmental Network, and Education Evolved to develop a micro game which examines how all experiences and voices are needed to reach the goal of NetZero 2045.

The Process

Beginning in September 2022 we ran workshops at the University of Glasgow focused on ideating what the game would be like with extensive input from the Ethnic Minority Environmental Network and their volunteers, and guided by the expertise of Dr. Mark Wong and Dr. Timothy Peacock.

During the second workshop in December 2022 we presented the game prototype and gained valuable feedback and led a discussion about how the game should look. The final game is set to launch on May 19th, 2023 at the Advanced Research Centre at the University of Glasgow.
